Election Information
Registering to vote:
You can register at the polls on election day with proof of residence for an election day registration.
Absentee voting: You can vote early with an absentee ballot starting 46 days before Election Day.
Process for mail in (absentee) ballots:
Date, times, location of early, in-person voting: Friday, September 23 through Monday, November 7 you can vote early with an absentee ballot at your local elections office at Clay County Auditors Office: 3510 12th Ave S, Moorhead, MN 56560.

Question #1School district ballot question 1 approval of general obligation school building bonds
Shall the School Board of Independent School District No. 150 (Hawley), Minnesota (the “School District”), be authorized to issue general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $52,950,000, for the purpose of providing funds for the acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities, including but not limited to, construction of a new middle school building? BY VOTING “YES” ON THIS BALLOT QUESTION, YOU ARE VOTING FOR A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE. PASSAGE OF THIS REFERENDUM WILL RESULT IN AN INCREASE IN YOUR PROPERTY TAXES. |
Question #2Shall the School Board of Independent School District No. 150 (Hawley), Minnesota (the “School District”), be authorized to issue general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $3,005,000, for the purpose of providing funds for the acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities, including but not limited to, construction of a new competition gym?
BY VOTING “YES” ON THIS BALLOT QUESTION, YOU ARE VOTING FOR A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE. PASSAGE OF THIS REFERENDUM WILL RESULT IN AN INCREASE IN YOUR PROPERTY TAXES. |
