If approved, Question #1 would have an estimated tax impact of $473.14 per year on a home worth $180,000 in our community. Question #2 would have an estimated impact of $35.29 per year on a $180,000 home.
If both bond referendum questions are approved, the estimated tax impact would be $508.43 annually on a $180,000 home, or $42.37 per month. However, Clay County just reassessed property values, increasing the net tax capacity in the county by nearly 18%. On the one hand, this is a good thing. It means the cost of the bond is spread over more property value and it may mean the costs in the chart below will be lower for each of the values listed. On the other hand, it means your home value will likely be greater than last year - a good problem to have when it comes time to sell your home.

Tax impact for selected property values
We have excellent community support for our schools and our students. Nine years ago, in one night, district voters approved an excess operating referendum and bond referendum with 90% and 89% approval, respectively. Residents of Hawley have a history of being strong supporters of their school district and we thank you for your dedication to our students.
